November 3, 2026 general election

Check your California voter registration.

Use California's official My Voter Status service to confirm that you are registered at the right address, review your party preference, find election information, and check a returned ballot.

Those official services open on California government systems. CA Votes does not receive the personal information you enter there.

Independent guide: CA Votes is not a government website and cannot determine whether you are registered. The California Secretary of State and county elections offices maintain the authoritative records.

Three-minute check

What to do before relying on your record

1

Open the official tool

Use My Voter Status. If you registered online recently, the state advises waiting at least 24 hours before checking.

2

Review the details

Confirm where you are registered, your political-party preference, polling place and available election information.

3

Correct what changed

Re-register if your residence or mailing address, name, or political-party preference changed.

2026 deadline

October 19 is the regular registration deadline.

For the November 3 general election, submit an online application or have a paper registration postmarked by October 19, 2026. From October 20 through Election Day, eligible voters who missed the deadline can use Conditional Voter Registration in person at participating county election offices, polling places or vote centers.
